Many fans of Michael Jackson will readily admit that his last 15 years or so were a far cry off from his glory days, and that he was never the same ever since falling from grace.
Jackson shut himself out from the rest of the world. His child molestation case and the rest of the trouble that the media and the rest of the world gave him obviously took their toll on Jackson, and his music suffered as a result.
Still, his music obviously faded from the 1990s on, as people now look at the 1970s and the 1980s as his best years. These were unbelievable years, and arguably no one else in music history accomplished what he did, appealing to such a wide base of fans around the world.
Regardless of the case, Michael Jackson's 'Is This It' was a movie that I went into with low expectations. I was always waiting for that one MJ revival, and it was so unfortunate to see his tragic ending, as he left us at such a young age.
Fans of his will be fortunate enough to see one last performance with the King of Pop, as his new movie "Is This It" is now in theaters. This documents Jackson's final rehearsal performance, as he had planned on embarking upon a world tour shortly thereafter.
Jackson was a natural born performer, and regardless of his usual physical state, a different Jackson came out while he was on stage during these rehearsal sessions. It was very interesting to see such a transformation.
Not only were his vocals great, but he danced like he was 30, despite his age of 50 years. He showed charisma, and more energy on stage than you would ever expect when you consider his otherwise weak physical state.
This was an exceptional movie, as real as it gets. No Hollywood effects, simply real footage of the King of Pop during his final performance. I'd highly recommend this movie to just about anyone.
