Ever go into a grocery store and see gossipy tabloids lining the shelves by the checkout counter? They are always there. Speculation is a customary practice for the media; they don't seem to have an issue with it. In many cases, the speculation is later proven to be false! Folks fail to comprehend, though, that the speculation can affect others' opinions on the celebrities. Not really fair, is it?
What is it about sensationalism that makes a person pick up an entire magazine full of speculative articles about another? Inexplicably, folks feel great about reading it and want to talk about it later to family. "See, they aren't that great after all," appears to be the hidden tone when people talk about it. They are likely to bring more awareness to the problem they started with; this is just one example of the problems they face. It is not unusual in today's society for people to libel others. Surely, there is something we can do to put a stop to this.
