The basketball season this year has been quite thrilling to watch as there is never a dull moment and that tends to make you always want to keep tabs on every team. There are so many first-time teams that have emerged, while, to the contrary, many teams that are usually at the top have become vulnerable, which ultimately means that the postseason is not set in stone and no one can predict just who is going to be at the top.
The Lakers are still playing like the favorites to win the Western Conference and while anything can happen in the playoffs, it's the Eastern Conference that seems to be a bit more interesting at the moment.
Who will make it through to the NBA finals from the East? Well, here are the three teams that likely stand a chance.
The first team is Orlando, who is only seven games behind Cleveland and, thus, in 2nd place overall in the Eastern Conference. They made it all the way to the finals just last season and have a very good chance of doing that again this season.
They just don't seem to go at it with as much intensity as they did last year. There is still time for them to change this though, as long as they get busy with that right now.
Boston got the NBA title the season before last. Two key players, Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce, have been dealing with injuries this season and are obviously not playing at the top of their game. This team has a great core to it and they need to maintain that. However, the rumor that is going around concerning the trading of Ray Allen would not be beneficial to this team.
Last but not least, the team that is playing fantastic basketball this season is Cleveland. Shaquille O'Neal is a part of that lineup and, with a slow start behind them, they are the #1 team in the Eastern Conference right now. They will need to continue their fabulous playing and go on to defeat Orlando and Boston, the two teams that have defeated them during the prior two years.
