The new addition to the British Royal Family, Kate Middleton (Duchess of Cambridge) has shown a true fondness for scented candles. Recently Kate purchased 900 (nearly $1500) of scented candles to help freshen their apartment in Kensington Palace. The stuffy smell of their new apartment was disliked by Kate whilst William was more accustomed to the scent of the palace.
Kate felt the Palace had an overriding musty, damp smell, and ordered a six-month supply of her favourite products to help overcome this. The fragrances Kate chose included lavender, sandalwood and moss-based scents. These delicate fragrances come highly recommended as I recently tested some beautiful lavender and sandalwood scents from a British company called Busy Bee Candles.
Busy Bee Candles (http://www.busybeecandles.co.uk ) supply a large range of candles and I have just recently tested one or two of these in writing a sequence of articles about the growing fragrance candle trend around the globe.
First on test for me was a large Lavender Pillow fragrance candle. Handmade in the UK and made from soy wax, this candle simply filled my entire home with the beautiful fragrance of relaxing lavender. Highly fragranced and burning for around 90 hours on test, this comes highly recommended by me (and in searching other reviews, by lots of other testers).
The second perfume I sampled from Busy Bee Candles was Antique Sandalwood. A fragile perfume and a touch more manly than my first candle. I like Antique Sandalwood and have not another brand that offers this scent. It made me think of Aramis Aftershave which I simply adore. The Antique Sandalwood smell I tested was in a jumbo size candle with 2 wicks and it burned for more than one hundred hours. Gorgeous!
Good enough for the future King of England, I heartily recommend that you give these fragrances a try and bring warmth, fragrance and atmosphere to your home.
