Columbia released their new drama film called "The Social Network" into movie theaters a while back. I agree with the professional movie critic's perfect positive assessment of this film. It showed good,drama-filled,informative scenes about the real life story of Facebook's beginnings. The film stars: Jesse Eisenberg, Justin Timberlake, Andrew Garfield, Joe Mazzello, and Rashida Jones.
The flick centered around the amazing true life story of Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, along with numerous people he worked with in the beginning days at Harvard University. It follows how Mark built a popular website before Facebook that generated 22,000 hits in 2 hours. It was a fun site that let people rate which lady was the best looking out of two choices.
Mark ran into a few problems with his site because he hacked all the pictures from Harvard's database, and got put on academic probation for the action. It was an interesting story to learn. Eventually, Mark was approached by a few college students who were very impressed with his work on the popular site, and they wanted his help to launch an idea they had about a social networking site that only Harvard students would have access to. Mark liked the idea and agreed to give them his help. The plan was to call it "The Harvard Connection."
However,Mark ends up deciding to launch his own version of the social network idea, calling it "The Facebook." Mark partnered with his best friend and co-founder Eduardo Saverin (Garfield). Eduardo provided the money for the Facebook project, and Mark did all the very technical coding that makes Facebook actually work.
They eventually met up with Sean Parker (Timberlake) who helped expand Facebook into a business, and also got Mark to drop the "The" and just make it "Facebook," claiming it would be cleaner. After that, conflicts eventually arose as Eduardo got shoved into the background and eventually out of the company.
To add to the problems, the students who originally approached Mark with the idea, filed a lawsuit against him, claiming that he stole their idea. Eduardo also filed a lawsuit. The movie covered that aspect in great detail, and it featured some very good drama. I really liked this film. It was very interesting to learn about how much stuff took place during the early days of Facebook.
Justin Timberlake did a great job as Sean Parker in my opinion. I thought Jesse Eisenberg played Mark Zuckerberg's role good as well. I also liked the performance from the new Spider-Man franchise actor Andrew Garcia as character Eduardo Saverin. It was the first time I saw Andrew act in a movie. The film got a perfect A grade from me.
