Screen Gems recently came out with a new comedy/action flick titled "Easy A" into theaters a while back. I finally got around to watching it,and I agree with the top critics' positive opinions on this one. It was an excellent film.
Emma Stone should be a comedian because she was very funny in this film. Her and good ole Amanda Bynes really delivered some good drama and comedy. It stars: Emma Stone, Penn Badgley, Amanda Bynes, Thomas Haden Church, Patricia Clarkson, Cam Gigandet, Lisa Kudrow, Malcolm MacDowell, Aly Michalka, and Stanley Tucci.
The movie revolved around character Olive who finally gives into her friend's crazy desires for her to tell her she finally slept with a college guy. Soon enough, the rumor spreads quickly throughout the entire school. Then, all of a sudden,Olive goes from being unnoticed all of the time to being constantly stared at and whispered about. It also doesn't sit well with self righteous Christian freak Marianne who's always telling Olive she needs to beg God for forgiveness.
The craziness doesn't stop there. Eventually, Olive helps out her gay friend Brandon (Dan Byrd) from continuing to get picked on by giving the illusion of having sex with him at a wild party. From there, the rumors strengthened, but Olive embraces them, and continues to help make them even stronger by taking offers from more guys. As the hype of her being a whore continues to spread, she plays the role in convincing style by wearing sexy outfits with the letter "A" on them.
Towards the end of the movie, one final moment makes Olive want to set the real record straight. I think the film was extremely funny. It included scenes, which featured Olive making fake sex noises with Brandon, lots of fast, witty comebacks,Olive's mother saying that she was a slut in high school, and more.
The movie delivered non-stop laughs. It never had a boring moment, and kept me highly entertained the entire hour and a half. That Emma Stone is a jewel of an actress. This movie made me a big fan of hers. It was cool to see Amanda Bynes return to the big screen . She was also very funny. Gossip Girl's Penn Badgley did a great job as the cool, calm, collective guy named Woodchuck Todd. If you want to laugh your butt off, definitely check out this movie. I gave it an easy "A+.".
