By Jennie Sandoval

All over the world, there are many people who believe in Islam. The religion has long been established and has a huge population of believers. The followers are recognized because of the modest way they are clothed. They are ones who would wear Islamic turbans as women only have eyes seen by others.

Believers of Islam would read the holy book, the Quran. The followers would have to wear modest clothes as part of the teachings of Islam. They must not gaze on others intently as well. Following these mean that the followers are following God. They have to make sure that they would keep themselves from being susceptible from the judgment of other people.

The followers would have to wear clothes that follow the traditions. These are often ones that are made from flowing fabric. These clothes should cover the rest of the body and long enough to cover it. There are some people who just choose to wear clothes that have minimal colors. Some people though want a flair of color and prints which is perfect for the bubbly ones.

The thobes are worn by men. These are long-sleeved and loose garment which falls below the ankle. The summer thobes are made of cotton and are generally white so they would make everyone feel fresh. They also wear winter thobes that are made of wool and are also darker in color.

Men would have to wear the tagiyah, a knitted cap which fits tightly above the head. Men should also be wearing a scarf that is known as the ghutra. They have these folded and worn over the tagiyah. There is also the black, thick cord called the agal which looks like a turban.

Women on the other hand are wearing the abaya. This is a loose robe which would cover the body from the top of the head to the foot. The women would also be wearing the jilbab which is a loose-fitting dress that is similar to raincoats although these are made of cloth. The other women could wear the niqab or the veil that would cover the face just below the eyes. It can fall past the shoulders. The hijab is also the scarf that is worn on the head..

Most of the Muslims would prefer that they are covered from their head to their foot. The modest clothes are part of their identity as the people of God. They always see to it that they follow what religion teaches them and they also do away from attracting others. Modesty in the way they present themselves is one thing that they are very particular of.

The kids would also have to wear the appropriate set of clothes. For the boys, the diahdash are the clothes that would fit them well. They can wear skull caps as well that are very similar to what men wear. Many of the girls have the jilbab or abaya worn just like the adult women.

The Islamic turban are also considered very vital part of the clothes that men wear. This is a great symbol of their beliefs. It is very sacred for them to follow the teachings of their religion and they follow these with all their heart. They work hard to preserve their traditions.
