Throw a party like a famous celebrity

By Richard Barker

One of the very finest paths to kick up a party a nick or two is by employing a celebrity theme. This way as visitors turn up and celebrate, they feel a bit like they're in Hollywood proper. There isn't such a thing as too much glitter or glamor at a party of this nature - so let your creativity run free for some time for more popular factor.

Why not start out by making yourself into a look-alike of one of your favorite stars. As a host or hostess gather up some props too and take photographs with your visitors (if you are using a photo booth - you can give them an autograph too). By all means get out those over-sized sun shades, a flouncy hat and high heels or glossy shoes.

Speaking of pictures, consider embellishing the interior of your party space with life size cut outs of which ever stars represent your theme. If you're going Old Skool definitely decorate in black and white using undeveloped film as an element of your decorating scheme. Other possibilities for photograph opportunities include making a card limo or a TV frame in which people can sit and pose in classic techniques. It's fun to have some tabloids around to give the shy of heart a few ideas for their memorial photos.

Outside the locale, be sure to hire a red carpet, some spot lights, and other touches which make it feel a bit like the real deal. If you can get buddies and family members to play paparazzi for you - that's a great addition as is a classic Hollywood sign and flick posters. And do not forget theme music with which to welcome your celebrity guests.

Food smart, a celebrity blast needn't be pricey. Go with lush finger foods like strawberries and a chocolate fountain, alcoholic and non-alcoholic bubbly in plastic Champaign glasses, pieces of protein and flavoured crackers - actually the list is constrained to only your inventiveness (note: however , that if the star you're portraying had a fave food - you better have it on the menu).

It's down to you whether you want an active party with games or one that is more social. Both have a place on the celebrity beat. Select what makes you and your visitors most snug, and what you know they will respond to positively (of course , you would like them talking about this event for some considerable time to come).

Last but not least you need to include some kind of give-away bag. At all the awards ceremonies these bags include the latest and greatest in makeup, shampoo, moisturising creams, vouchers for various services, for example. Obviously you want to be guided by your financial position, but toss a little glitter into each bag and everyone goes home content.
