Clear Sunglasses Are Making a Fashion Statement This Year

By Stephen Daniels

As political figures and scientists become more well known and popular as public figures, their fashion styles are reviewed by some almost as much as their job. As those who wear prescription glasses tend to appear more intellectual, it should not come as a surprise that there is a huge segment of the population that wants to emulate that look. Recently, clear lens sunglasses in copycat styles have become very popular, rather than the formerly preferred eye-hiding dark shades. Reacting to the sudden interest, the designers who supply wholesale designer sunglasses have been quick to produce extensive lines of designer look-alikes with clear lenses.

In addition to making a fashion statement, these clear lens sun shades form a good looking frame for the eyes, allowing them to stand out and be more easily noticed. Furthermore, clear lenses enable eye-to-eye contact. Despite the clear lenses, many of these innovative sunglasses have polarized lenses to reduce glare and they also claim to offer total defense against harmful Ultraviolet rays through the use of special coating on the glass or plastic lenses. Moreover, due to the clear lenses, there is no color distortion of the natural environment.

Wholesale fashion sunglasses frames are produced in a variety of materials and a rainbow of colors. For this reason, many people are purchasing the new trendy sunglasses with the ultimate goal of taking out the lenses and replacing them with their own prescriptions. Not only do these designer sunglasses offer a wider selection of rims, they are often times less expensive than those that can be purchased from an optometrist.

Although these new shades do offer UVA and UVB protection, one might prefer a pair with tinted lenses or a darker hue for very bright days. It should be remembered, however, that a lot of dark sunglasses do not offer protection against hazardous Ultra violet rays which can lead to vision problems. Because the eyes dilate in more dark conditions, more light enters, and harmful rays not blocked can damage the retina resulting in diminished vision acuity. Some color, on the other hand, can be both attractive and more comfortable to wear, reducing glare and excessive brightness. In addition, certain colors will boost your sight in some light conditions which explains why amber lenses, for example, are worn by many outdoor lovers. Amber lenses block all blue light and is said to make points in the distance appear more distinct, particularly in snow or hazy conditions. In spite of fashion, amber tinted shades probably will remain the preferred tint for skiers, hunters, boaters and pilots.

Media stars may have been among the first to hide behind dark glasses, but perceptive followers have noticed that the recent trend is toward raising their perceived intelligence quotients by switching to clear sunglasses. Fashionistas of both sexes are jumping on the untinted bandwagon, seeking out both original designer and replica sunglasses in all price ranges. The selections are wide and easily found, available at wholesale and retail stores everywhere.
