The Effects Of Reality Rap On Teenagers

By Farah Fan

Reality rap is believed to have many influences in the culture and society today. It is a genre of rhythm and blues music that contains rhythmic vocals declaimed over musical accompaniment. The accompaniment usually includes electric drum beats combined with digitally isolated sound bites from other musical recordings. It's been classified as a cultural evolution of the Black oral tradition and contemporary resistance rhetoric. With time rap music has developed in many ways, especially its style and lyrical content.

It is thought to be the most controversial sub-genre of hip hop music because of its lyrical content and also the message the rapper is attempting to express. However, listeners of reality rap believed that it has deep political meaning. The outcomes of the increasing violent environment that the new political climate had made forced young blacks to face a less optimistic reality than the people who fought for equal opportunities had wished for.

As Glenn Collins explains, the effect of rap is now evident in the nation's language, music, fashion as well as advertising. Hip hop as we knew it had taken a significant change and to complicate things the music that was very controversial on the west coast had now become the hottest form of hip hop. It would be titled "Gangsta Rap" due to the fact that people who performed it were either in a gang, associated with gangs or rapped about gangs. Hip hop isn't just rapping, it's also Djing, break dancing and graffiti art. Others admire rap as an inventive manipulation of cultural idioms and credit a lot of rappers with an acute social and political awareness.

Rap music can be considered a style of art, and also a way for the rappers to express feelings by means of their words on paper. But, there are a number of rappers who get criticized for their lyrics. Rappers utilize certain lyrics in their music and individuals believed that it cause violence among the younger generations and reflects reality. People shouldn't censor the music just because of violent, vulgar as well as abusive messages it promotes to the entire world. There's a reason for these types of lyrics that rap artists use. Rap has been called one of the most essential music forces to come out in two decades. Its smashing beats and rhymes exploded on the streets of the urban America during the early 1980s and since become the theme music and lyrical heart of the vibrant youth culture.

Reality rap as a music is actually a hobby, and also a love for several young people nowadays. To claim that it can affect a healthy and normal teenager's behavior is ridiculous. An individual with all his/her screws in place cannot just listen to music and let it badly affect their behavior. Music could make you feel hopeless, angry, romantic, and so on, but music can't make you a violent person. The music you tune in to is based on your preferences. Just as you decide, you decide what your actions are. An average individual has complete discernment over their choices and actions.
