Trendy Tops For Juniors According To This Year's Fashions

By Emilia Espinoza

The fashion world for children is as fast paced as that of adults. Inspiration is often taken from fashion weeks that occur globally. However, it's important that children's designs retain an element of independence from other aesthetic trends because bold, bright fun is imperative for youthful wardrobes. This season is particularly fun filled. Trendy tops for juniors are bold, with vibrant prints.

Stripes, bows and polka dots will be seen on children's garments in response to the dainty details seen in adult collections. Lace is an important fabric for summer, and with kids clothing, this detail will be used in layering. The wearing of pinafore tops over t-shirts and trousers became a well loved trend many years ago, and this year, mixing and matching layers is done using lace underclothes that show through just below the hemlines.

Roses will always be a favorite among young girls, especially when they are lilac or pink. This year, they will be stitched to clothing instead of printed. There is also a move towards primary palettes, which will be used in the pop art fashion movement. American commercial icons will be printed onto T shirts.

The most exciting part of the pop art trend is the way it is being used on garments for babies and toddlers. Funny slogans will be printed onto infant body suits and toddler tees. The tiniest trend setters will be showing an urban edginess through their clothing.

Floral prints are becoming far more detailed and artistic. Rose prints on wide A line tops are worn with leggings. Disparate shades are used together for an alternative aesthetic. Expect to see pink and green worn in the same outfit. Tops for girls take the form of short, unstructured dresses. Tiny lace details are seen around the hem, and it's not unusual to wear a vast amount of tulle underneath to add volume.

Eighties rock and roll has been adopted in the popular skate wear movement, which is affecting the way children dress. The rocker style will feature neon designs, black denim and bright T shirts. Electric hues will be donned with black leather and silver studs. This look will be adopted primarily by preadolescent children.

Eighties indigo and colored denim will form part of boy's trends this year. They will be worn with chambray button down shirts that are treated to interesting weaves and washes. The disco era's denim treatments have been reinvented for the coming year, and will be worn with neon stripes. Color blocks will be a feature on clothing for both boys and girls.

Contrasting shades are striking but neon highlights are even brighter. They will be used to accent T shirt prints. Toddlers now have the opportunity to mix and match their prints as well. It's difficult to pull off print on print looks, but little fashionistas will have plenty of fun with this fashion.

Stripes are taking on the style of prison clothing and maritime styles. Navy and white cotton shirts mimic traditional sailing fashions, whilst jail prints will be used on denim and chambray. The basic cotton twill in khaki, navy and stone will be brightened up by tropical floral prints. Trendy tops for juniors will feature plenty of ruffles.
