Model-turned-actor Siddharth Malhotra has been grabbing a lot of attention lately with his first on-screen appearance, Student of the Year, scheduled to release on the 19th of October 2012. Starring in Karan Johar's upcoming film along with Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan, Malhotra who has had no previous experience in movies has been said to have found acting difficult, while his peers, Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan, both come from strong backgrounds in the film industry. Staying true to his other ventures, Karan has spent lavishly on his upcoming Student of the Year, which is sort of a gamble as its stars three new comers. The film includes glamorous sets with most of the scenes shot at the Forest Research Institute, Dehradun.
As per general knowledge, a shorter film is bound to rake in higher collections, with a shorter run-time allowing for more screenings in multiplexes in a day. Also, the modern-day movie-watcher is known to prefer shorter films.
