How To Choose The Right Turbans For Men

By Cathy Mercer

While in many cultures and religions, donning a certain style of head gear is deemed mandatory, outside of these norms there exists a world of fashion where such pieces are worn to make a statement. Whether it is a social gathering, a religious ceremony or a cultural event, turbans for men can look quite suitable and astonishing if worn in the right manner. The one thing you must be cautious of it to not hurt the religious sentiments of anyone by donning this garment.

While many varieties of fancy head gear are available in the market nowadays, choosing the right one for yourself or the person who would be wearing it is important. For people who belong to a particular community, wearing a turban that adheres to the rules of that community is crucial. The manner of wearing it as well as the colours you can wear make a lot of difference.

Turbans can create quite an impression, especially at large social gatherings. So, do not hesitate to look your best if the occasion calls for it, and make a style statement too.

The complexion of the wearer is quite important while choosing turbans. This is so because the piece sits on the head, the part closes to the face. Therefore, for those with fairer skin, brightly coloured head gear could look quite befitting. A bright red, shocking pink or crisp maroon could do wonders for your skin tone. Clubbed with a suit that is black, dark brown or navy blue, you could make a lot of heads turn at the party. With these colours, outfits of lighter colours such as beige, cream, or white would also look quite dashing.

On the other hand, if your complexion is on the darker side or if you have tanned skin, a more subtle shade of pink, red, blue or mauve may be more suitable. Donned with a suit that is grey or black, you may just turn out to be the most handsome guy on the floor on that day. And this look has nothing to do with age.

Make heads turn and look absolutely stunning in your awesome head piece. If the occasion is one that is special, such as a wedding or a highly important ceremony, you may even try a little dazzle. Turbans with a little bit of glitter or sequins are not uncommon. In fact, they add glamour to the overall style of the wearer, and make him look stylish and trendy.

Another consideration is the cloth the piece is made of. Silk and crepe in winters may be befitting, but in summers, they could make you sweat profusely. Cotton may be more appropriate in summer, but too light for functions in winter. Knowing the right fabric according to the weather, venue and location could save you the trouble of much discomfort.

Turbans for men are not rare, yet can be difficult to decide. A very useful tip would be to wear the one you intend to buy beforehand and keep it on for a while to check how comfortable it will be.
