What Different Turbans For Men Signify

Unknown to most people, turbans for men come in different colors and shapes and signify different things. Because of the fact that most terrorists have been spotted wearing turbans, most people mistakenly think that it is only those who are linked to terrorism who wear them. This could not be further from the truth. There are different people who wear them as will be shown below.

Those who are affiliated to Sikhism wear turbans in order to cover their lengthy hair. Sikh men have been known to have a very long hair which is rarely cut out of the respect they have of God's creation. Interestingly enough, they also have huge beards which are also not cut often. Due to this, a turban will also hold these long beards which are carefully tucked inside.

For Muslims, turbans are usually worn alongside a round cap which comes in varying styles and colors. For them, these garments represent something unique especially when the color is taken into consideration. Because of the fact that one of their prophets, Mohamed, wore a white one, it is common to find most of them preferring the same color.

Men who live in Afghan wear a certain type of turban depending on their tastes and preferences. Those in religious circles prefer to wear long ones which have a hanging end. Others instead prefer to just wear a hat instead of going the extra length of wearing a turban.

Men who live in Iran prefer to tie either a black or a white turban. The most common mode of wearing them is in a circular style round the head. There are those who claim that these garments originated in this region and were actually known as dulband then.

Indian men wear their turbans to symbolize the class, profession or their religious preferences. Depending on the above factors, you will find that some Indians decide to wear a very elaborate turban. Even others prefer to don theirs which are beautifully colored with jewels and fancy pieces of cloths.

A turban which has gained popularity of late is the kaffiyeh. It was popularized by Yasser Arafat, who was the Palestinian leader. In almost all the times that he was seen, he was usually wearing one. It is because of this that some people think that these garment came from Palestine. The truth is that a kaffiyeh has always been worn by those who live in Jordan and also residents of Saudi Arabia.

For those who live in deserts, turbans for men are usually worn in order to protect them from the harsh climatic conditions of the deserts. Apart from the scorching sun, there are also strong winds which carry fine sand. Other than that, there are people who wear them as a form of disguise. Other tribes also wear them so as to symbolize the tribe where they come from. Just by looking at a turban, one may be forgiven to think that it does not represent much. However, it is clear that there is so much more that these pieces of cloth represent.
