Given his latest, and at the same time, impressive mixtape drop "So Far Gone," new hip hop artist Drake has already established himself under the wing of hip hop's biggest star, Weezy, and has acquired the co-sign from several legends and current hip hop studs. For a guy who began on Degrassi, the look and the appeal had been there. He threw in a rap voice and some great musical ability to virtually complete his threat. Is it fair to say that he has the possibility to be, not only the biggest selling Canadian Hip Hop Artist, but merely, the highest Canadian hip hop artist of all time.
Drake is not only hip hop's biggest star at his disposal, but music's largest star. Whether he decides to ride the coat-tails of Weezy's achievements is up to Drake, but it seems like he currently has a good enough buzz going with him under Interscope without even making an album. With over 80,000 mixtape downloads of So Far Gone, you'll find it very hard to say that any of the above mentioned Canadian artists, let alone a performer of any area code, could pull that off. Bear in mind when he put out two joints alongside Little Brother; he was rarely an afterthought in spite of his large amount of potential and talent.
Drake seems to have been as noisy as ever without ever creating any noise. Canada is packed with talent, and if you have noticed, a website has been hard at work promoting some hip hop from "America Junior," as Homer Simpson calls it. The little of it all is that if and when Drake actually does release an album, you can probably expect BET's countless countdown lists to feature him, for all the ladies to go nuts, and for all the alpha male hip hop heads to offer him his daps. He's got a ton of appeal and will certainly produce amongst even the slightest hip hop followers, just like his apparent partner in crime, Weezy, has.
Jamie Marsh is a south based UK commercial R&B artist. He is currently working on his new EP which will be released at the start of 2012 followed by his dbut album at the end of 2012 after he has toured with it. There are lots of big plans for the future career of Jamie Marsh. Jamie Marsh is a solo hip-hop musician from Newport, isle of Wight. Jamie was part of the J&R project that helped spark success for him and his fellow artist, working together to create their own independent sound.
Actively playing numerous shows in the south of England and a handful of releases to follow that up, the pair had decided to go their own separate ways and ever since new hip hop artist Jamie has been working on his solo career. Since going solo Jamie fuses together all kinds of genres that inspire him such as, dance, R&B and all variations of hip-hop. Breaking away from the stereotypical "gangsta" image that is included with hip-hop Jamie has worked hard on creating and producing his own songs and acquiring a number of different vocalists to collaborate with him, to create his own unique type and connection with music.
