Telling The Difference Between A Python Bag And A Fake

By Paulette Hart

When a woman goes on a shopping trip seeking a prestige accessory, many of the items that she finds will not be genuine. When she is looking for a python bag, she is seeking a high-end fashion item which will make her look good and feel good. It may even make her feel like one of the Jetset.

There are all sorts of markets both online and off-line offering prestige fashion items. They even have genuine looking big-name designer labels. Unfortunately many of them are cheap knockoffs, and the people who buy them simply lose their money.

Snakeskin has certain things which identify it immediately. These identifying factors are in how the material looks, how it feels and how much the seller is asking. Looking in these areas will help the potential buyer decide if what they are looking at is genuine.

A genuine snakeskin accessory is like a snowflake. It has a one-of-a-kind pattern. Potential buyers confronted with a market stall full of snakeskin handbags would see many different individual patterns if the bags were genuine.

A notable characteristic of snakeskin is that if it is held in the hand for a few seconds, it will become warmer. If a person experiments with how different materials feel, this characteristic of snakeskin will be obvious. Vinyl, leather or other fake material will not transfer body heat as readily as genuine snakeskin.

The other aspect of how snakeskin feels is its roughness. No matter how they look, snakes are rough to the touch because their skins are made from individual scales. This cannot be duplicated in a counterfeit item.

Finally, there is price. A real python bag is not cheap, so checking reputable fashion outlets will give potential buyers some idea of what to pay. Any item that looks like an amazing bargain is probably a fake. All in all, it is best to stick to retailers with an established reputation.
