To start off in Dubai, the administration is recently paying special attention to bootleggers who engage in illicit alcohol trade. Headed by Khalid Salem Selaiteem, the Environmental Emergency office attempts to stop bandits from selling about 200,000 bottles of prohibited liquor. This is mainly because of the growing number of crimes that concern illegal traders. While this type of business remains attractive because of the big earnings one may get, the escalating rivalry in this market creates tension, enough to drive a bootlegger to kill his firm rivals. Just this year 2011, an Indian trader was placed to death sentence after being guilty of burying 2 of his strongest competitors alive in the desert of Dubai. Selaiteen and his crew are exerting effort to put an end on this illegal alcohol issue. His team is positive that they are going to fully have such objective by the end of next year. They also warned future bootleggers not to get engage into this type of trading.

On the lighter side of UAE news, Kim Kadarshian, a well-known celebrity of Armenian descent, is so excited about her first tour in Dubai. She stated her interest for Middle Eastern dishes, and is looking forward to tasting the native food there. Kim also revealed her budding plans of opening an establishment there-perhaps a new clothing line? The events on the said tour will be featured on the reality show, "Keeping Up With The Kadarshians". So that's the recent update for Dubai News.

Moving on to Abu Dhabi, five people failed to show up in a court trial, after being accused of writing blogs that jeopardize peace and public order. Their comments on blogs also reveal their disagreement with the administration as well as insults to the president. Insp9ite of their absence, the trial still resumed on October 2, 2011. Someone from the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority purportedly testified about the comments claimed to have been from the five accused men.

Meanwhile, in Abu Dhabi, a luxurious hotel is facing charges from a woman, claiming that they must be responsible for her accident some time in 2008 while staying at the hotel. The said hotel is none other than Emirates Palace, and the woman who accuses is Natalie Smith. According to Smith, something heavy hit her head while she opens the cupboard in the room she stayed in. Because of that incident, the woman had post-traumatic epilepsy, a situation that prohibits her to be on her own whenever she crosses a road or when taking a bath. Thus, she asks Dhs 20 million as a compensation for her spouse giving up their business so he can take care of her. While this case is still on-going, an official from Emirates Palace refused to say anything regarding the issue.
