If there's one task folks should do, it's keeping their promises to their kids. It's very vital to look upon the power of words in dealing with your youngsters as it leaves behind marks that sometimes last till he grows up.

If you guaranteed to fetch him at a particular hour after day care, you should do your utmost to fulfill it. As much as possible, there should be no excuse for not coming. You know, a child's heart is so frail. It's the stage where they don't look up to anything apart from those who care for them, aka their mother and father.

It's a period where trust is something of importance. They can simply lose their trust the moment a single bad move is made. Do not expect them to point out it aloud. They won't say that they're hurt. They don't know the best way to define it yet. All they know is the pain and the discontentment of you not doing what you have promised them to do.

If you promised to give them a birthday treat, then do so. Though it's hard but we have to really try our best and give what they should have. Now, what if you can't make it? Is there something that you can do? Of course there is you can always do something in the event you think you can't give what you have claimed.

Communication is a major factor in developing a relationship. say things to your child with all honesty. Tell them the reasons why you can't fetch them after day care or you can't give them birthday parties. Say it with words that he'll understand. Also provide an alternative, one that may be equivalent to what you have guaranteed but at the same time, possible.

A child's heart is trusting and if you'd like them to grow in trust, you should learn how to keep your promises.
