We reside in a planet which is reliant on illusion and notion. We are obsessed with other people's lives and the way they appear. We look enviously on the cult of celebrity, and we wish we had their lives rather than our own. This is amplified tenfold every time we see how people look in the large amount of magazines out there.
You will see stunning faces and physiques adorning sophisticated magazine covers and ads. They draw us into this notion, tempting us to purchase the magazine, as if as a end result we may discover some secret in regards to what a particular celebrity does to look the way she or he does in hopes to copy their looks.
We fantasize about how exactly life would be if we were celebs. How popular and loved we would be living in the spotlight.
This is all a good illusion that preys upon our feelings of inadequacy whenever we compare ourselves to the actual celebrity. Take away the illusion and we're left with a different reality. Many celebrities desire for two things, and they are money and fame. Many go to great lengths to attain both. The beautiful face on the cover with a lovely smile isn't actually looking at a person. It is looking in a camera, it doesn't understand you, and it isn't even conscious of your existence.
In current cultures of the world, celebrities have grown to be role models, in what seems to be for the wrong reasons. You want to look like them and you want to have bodies like they have. We fall into the trap and become convinced that if we use the products that they use, or attempt to mimic their lifestyles to some degree where possible, we will become much like them or form some type of connection with the celebrities.
