Thinking About Nature: Eco Fashion

By Antonia Rivers

Concerns about the state of the environment have been raised, particularly in recent years. This has also given rise to a various number of trends which are taking the world by storm, particularly the trend of eco fashion. Nowadays the atmosphere and nature appear to be facing many different threats.

Back in the nineties, there had been a lot of talking about the ozone layer and the holes that are forming in it. This was due to the pollution from factories and other emissions in the air. There were campaigns against it. More recently, a lot of talk has been going about global warming. Other threats are also evident in the world today which make people environmentally conscious.

As a result of this, we come to the concept of sustainable fashion. Plenty of people out there are now cashing in on this new idea, with the goals of making a more renewable system of clothing manufacturing much in the way some companies are using renewable energy resources. These products have been designed whilst the manufacturers consider their environmental impact.

Many people these days are now thinking of how their own actions might have an effect on the entire world, the future and what is going on in the atmosphere itself. Many fashion designers now are also becoming incredibly eco-conscious about this whole idea, and finding that, not only it being sustainable, it could also be something that is quite profitable.

In creating a more sustainable fashion industry, people will be looking to cut out certain materials, usually ones that have artificial ingredients such as those which are made from petroleum. There will be more leaning towards natural fibers.

Cotton is a common natural fiber which can be grown in fields and produced in many different climates, and is a form of cellulose. There are others which include the likes of silk, wood and angora wool. Read more about: Eco Fashion
